MEET NIMA

Nima Tenji Sherpa is a second-generation mountain guide who proudly follows in his father’s footsteps. Growing up in a family deeply connected to the world’s highest peaks instilled in him a profound respect for the mountains, a strong commitment to safety, and a passion for quality instruction.
Nima was among the first Nepali guides to earn the prestigious IFMGA/UIAGM certification. Over a guiding career spanning more than 35 years, he has successfully summited Mount Everest (8,848m), Mount Manaslu (8,163m), Mount Lhotse (8,516m), and Cho Oyu (8,201m). His extensive climbing résumé also includes numerous ascents of 7,000-meter, and 6,000-meter peaks, including Gyachung Kang, Himlung Himal, Ama Dablam, Denali, and many others.
Nima’s wealth of experience, technical expertise, and leadership make him an invaluable member of our team, and we are proud to climb alongside him. Today, he divides his time between guiding in Nepal and the Pacific Northwest, while also spending time with family and colleagues in New York.
